Registration is open.  Everyone should register for their choice of classes online as soon as possible to help our teachers with class size locations and material planning for the event. 

 

Classes

Special Safety and Risk Management

Program Purpose: To understand the guidelines and protocols for a quality & safe program.

Scouting Committee and Finance Program Goal: Learn and share how a committee is supposed to operate. Learn the LUFAS guidelines for scouting.

Cub Scouts & Webelos Program Goal: To tie the 10 Purposes & 12 core values of Cub Scouting for a complete program.

Eleven-Year Old Program Goal: To understand how the Eleven-year old program works to prepare the boys for the Aaronic Priesthood and Scouting.  Note: This Eleven-Year Old class will only be taught in the 2nd and 3rd Session. 

Boy Scout Program Goal: To learn how to tie together all of the resources of Scouting and the Aaronic Priesthood.

Varsity Scout  Program Goal: To learn all of the available resources of the Varsity Program to run an exciting and successful Team . Learn what AHPSP stand for.

Venture Program Goal: Learn and share what it takes to have the "Best Activity Program" for Priest age YM.

   

Note: Look for signs on the classroom doors around the building for lunchtime roundtable topic discussions (or just socialize with sack lunches in the gym with whomever you choose).

What? Highlights from LDS Philmont Training

The training focus will be sharing best methods for Scouting in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  This Little Philmont training is a supplemental training to BSA basic training courses.  The trainers have been trained at LDS week at Philmont and will share their insights with us.  Please take all the BSA online training available to you prior to attending:  Training Link 

 

When? Saturday January 28, 2012 Time: 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

 

 Who should attend?  

A Training for Leaders of the Primary, Young Men, Scout Committee, Bishopric and Stake Leaders who have a Scouting stewardship for Cubs, Scouts, Varsity, and Venturing in the Pacific Harbors Council or surrounding stakes.  Visitors are welcome.  Please register online for your class choices on this website today. 

 

Cost? Free!  Bring your own sack lunch and there is no fee.  A Little Philmont patch can be pre-ordered for $3.00 with registration, make sure to bring money for the patch the day of the event.

Special Safety and Risk Management General Session

1st Session Class Choice.

11:45-12:30 PM

 

Roundtable Topics in side rooms or gym - bring sack lunch

12:30-1:30 PM   Chapel General Session for all.  Teaching with Q&A
1:40-2:30 PM   3rd Session Class Choice*
2:40-3:30 PM   4th Session Class Choice (Close in classroom)

 *All Classes will be available for all sessions except 11-Year old class.
