Scout-O-Rama Kick Off Meeting
Scout-O-Rama 2018, a Scouting skills show open to the public to learn more about the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing program for older teens. A Scout-O-Rama is a huge, interactive, hands-on "Scouting Experience" where individual Scouting units — Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops and Venture Crews — create and operate a display "booth" to give the general public a sense of the excitement and adventure of Scouting.
This event is designed to take the "Scouting Story" to the youth and families in our communities who are not yet a part of the Scouting experience. The BSA is the best-kept secret in America — we meet at night in schools and church basements and go camping in the woods on weekends. This event is an opportunity to change that — to make us the "worst-kept secret" in the Puget Sound area.
All Scout units are encouraged to participate by signing up for a 10'x10' booth space, and create an activity or display that shares what your unit does best!
Units will earn money by selling $5 tickets to the event, the unit keeps $2 of every ticket sold, and the remainder helps defray the costs of holding the event. Units who sell 100 or more tickets will have their $25 booth fee waived, and Scouts who sell 10 or more tickets will receive a Scout-O-Rama patch.
Scout Unit Leaders: Find out more, and pick up your tickets to sell at our Scout-O-Rama Kickoff meeting, Thursday, October 26th at 7:00 PM, at the Tacoma Scout Office.
