Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills & Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (IOLS & BALOO)

Friday, September 13th, 2019 at 5:00pm through Saturday, September 14th, 2019 at 5:00pm at Camp Thunderbird!

Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. Along with Scoutmaster Specifics, this course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Boy Scout Troops and Varsity Scout Teams, in order to be considered "trained".

BALOO training is the Cub Scout leader training required for any Cub Scout den or pack outdoor event, including pack camping overnighters and Webelos den overnighters.

The course runs from Friday evening to Saturday late afternoon.

Cost:

  • $25 until June 30th

  • $35 until September 3rd

  • $50 until September 10th
