New Leadership in the Glacier View District

New Leadership in the Glacier View District

The Glacier View District is excited to announce some changes within our district leadership.  Allen and Deeana have worked tirelessly the last two years as two-thirds of the District Key Three.

Allen will continue to serve the Glacier View District as Camping Chair.  He received his Eagle Scout Rank in 1979, and has served in his local troop since 2001.  He answered the District call in 2008 culminating as the District Chair from 2014-2016.

Deeana will be serving the Pacific Harbors Council as an Assistant Council Commissioner and Youth Protection Champion. She began her Commissioner service in 2006 as a Unit Commissioner. When the districts changed, she became an Assistant District Commissioner for the Sleeping Giant District. Deeana became District Commissioner in 2009 of the Glacier View District.  In February 2012, she stepped down and remained an ADC and a district member. She has had the pleasure of doing Eagle Scout Boards of Review for the district since 2014.  She came back as District Commissioner in 2014.  Deeana has received many Scouting awards including the Commissioner Key, Arrowhead Honor, and Silver Beaver Award.  She attended Wood Badge in 2003 and have staffed nine Wood Badge courses since then. She is also a member of the Order of the Arrow. Scouting has been a big part of her life. She is a mother and a grandmother of Eagle Scouts.

We are excited to see what Allen and Deeana will do in their new roles!

Hollie Reese has accepted the position of District Commissioner.  She started her adventures in Scouting when her oldest son became a Wolf Scout through his school pack. She started serving as the Cubmaster in 2008 and worked as a Cubmaster and Den Leader for over five years. Hollie has also helped out with the Glacier View Roundtable assisting with the Cub Scout breakout sessions. Hollie attended Wood Badge in 2013 and had the honor of staffing Wood Badge in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, she served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Pacific Harbors Council's National Youth Leadership Training program. In 2017, Hollie will be returning as the course director for the council's first Monday start week of NYLT. She has earned the District Award of Merit, Cubmaster of the Year, Unit Leader Award of Merit, and Commissioner of the Year Awards to name a few. Hollie truly loves the Scouting program and how it can help youth in so many ways.

Stephen Myers is the new Glacier View District Chairman. Boy Scouts has been part of Stephen Myers’ life since 1976 when he joined Troop 507 in Winchester, Massachusetts. Scouting introduced him to camping, fishing, and environmental stewardship which manifested themselves into a lifelong passion for the outdoors. Two of his most significant memories of his youth Scouting experience are of the 1981 Scout Jamboree at Fort AP Hill and the opportunity to canoe the Allagash Wilderness Waterway with his dad at the Matagamon BSA High Adventure Camp. He is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow. As an adult volunteer, he has served at nearly every capacity from Troop Committee Chair to Council Executive Board Member. Most notably, Stephen is the proud parent of two Eagles Scouts and current First Class Scout in Troop 71, Steilacoom, Washington.

Please welcome the new members of the Glacier View District Key Three!
