Pacific Harbors Venturing Officers Association

The Pacific Harbors Venturing Officers Association was created to support Venturing in the  Region. Presided over by the  Venturing President, the members are youth that serve as a Council Presidents and other appointed positions. Such other appointed positions include but are not limited to: Vice Presidents for Administration, Program and Communication, . The committee is composed of two advisors, one serving as the Council Venturing Chairman, and the other is the Council Venturing Staff Advisor. Other advisors are appointed to support the Council Presidents and other appointed youth.

Goals of the PHC Venturing Officers Association:

• To organize, promote and give leadership to all Council-sponsored activities and region communications and to help the Area Venturing Presidents and elected officers of Council Venturing Officers Associations or DVOAs.
• To encourage and aid in interaction between areas/councils and to encourage area/council activities and communications and to provide leadership for such.
• To organize and help in the development and implementation of training for Districts VOA officers and advisors.
• To promote the use of the National High Adventure Bases and Venturing bases throughout the nation.
• To provide Venturers and Sea Scouts, ESAR with a representative voice in the program and policies of Venturing, sharing leadership responsibilities with advisors.
• To help maintain an up-to-date roster of all council/District presidents, volunteer chairpersons, staff advisors/directors,  (where appropriate), including phone numbers and addresses, as well as e-mail addresses.
• To help publish regular communications to inform councils about activities, meetings, and projects.

The Pacific Harbors is composed of sub-divisions, known as Districts. Each Area is a geographically contiguous group of councils that are regionally administered together. Each District has a volunteer Area Committee and a professional Scouter serving as Area Director. Each District, recognizing the inherent value of the Venturing program have created an AreaDistrict (youth) Venturing President position. An advisor is also appointed to support District Venturing President. The Council Venturing President serves as a catalyst for Venturing in the Area, ensuring healthy communication among councils, and between councils and the region. This individual also serves as a resource to support council VOA's and aid in the developmental process of a VOA for District establishing a VOA.
