Discover a year of outdoor fun with Pacific Harbors Council!
The Cub Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge is a self-guided adventure running October 1, 2026–September 30, 2027, for Cub Scouts and their families, dens, and packs.
From fall scavenger hunts and winter wildlife watching to spring discoveries and summer camping, each season brings new opportunities to explore, build skills, and make memories.
Adventure can begin right in your backyard, neighborhood, or local park!
Start with the center patch. The adult or unit leader gives the youth their center patch to begin the adventure.
Choose your activities. Each season offers 50 activities. Pick the ones that interest your Scout and complete them at your own pace during that season.
Track your adventures. The adult or unit leader records completed activities using the seasonal challenge lists.
Celebrate each season. Complete at least 25 activities each season to earn that season’s patch. The adult keeps the seasonal patches and awards each one when the challenge is completed.
No activity logs or completion reports need to be sent to Pacific Harbors Council. Your family or unit handles tracking and awarding patches.
Packets are available now for $20 each and include the center patch, seasonal patches, and seasonal activity lists.
Purchasing for your unit or family? Contact Pacific Harbors Council for a special group pricing coupon code.
Use the activity lists to plan your adventures and track your progress throughout the year.
Choose activities appropriate for your Scout, provide adult supervision, and practice Leave No Trace as you explore.
Help more youth experience a year of outdoor discovery! We’re accepting sponsorships, and you choose how many youth you’d like to support. Your sponsorship helps provide adventure packets so more Scouts can participate.
You don’t need to report your progress—but we’d love to see your photos and videos!
